Triumph recently entered the Indian market with its most affordable motorcycle, the Speed 400, in collaboration with local manufacturer Bajaj Auto. Now, the brand has unveiled the 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 900, which is essentially the elder sibling of Speed 400, with two new colour options.
The overall design of the motorcycle remains unchanged, along with the engine. However, it is now available in two colors – Carnival Red and Phantom Black. The Carnival Red option features black parts and a stripe on the fuel tank. On the other hand, the Phantom Black color is truly unique, featuring blacked-out components and a vertical black stripe on the tank.

However, unlike its name suggests, Phantom Black is actually a captivating dark green shade.
The Speed Twin 900 is powered by a 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that belts out 65 hp and a peak torque of 80 Nm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic forks at the front and twin shocks at the rear.
For braking, the motorcycle employs single discs at both ends, complemented by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. Despite its power and performance, the Triumph Speed Twin 900 maintains a manageable weight of 216kg and boasts a 12-litre fuel tank. In contrast, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor, which is a 650cc motorcycle, tips the weighing scale at 241 Kgs.
The British manufacturer introduced the motorcycle in India last year with prices starting at Rs 8.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The new updated version of the motorcycle can be expected to arrive in India early next year.
