Triumph Motorcycles, in partnership with Bajaj Auto recently introduced the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X roadsters in the Indian market. The company launched the Triumph Speed 400 at a starting price of 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom) and unveiled the Scrambler 400X, expected to launch sometime in October 2023.

The brand has just confirmed that the Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X collectively received an order book of 17,000 units as of now. Triumph Speed 400 deliveries will start within a couple of days at 50 dealerships across the country, as per the official statement.
The production of the Triumph Speed 400 has already commenced at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. Triumph is expecting production to hit 5,000 units by the end of Q2 and will start exports by October 2023.

At the heart, the Triumph 400 twins use a 398 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled TR-Series engine, churning out a max power of 40 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed transmission.

In terms of features, both motorcycles get heated grips, a digital-analogue display, and more. Triumph Speed 400 sits on 17-inch alloy rims at the front and rear, while the Triumph Scrambler 400X uses 19/17-inch alloy rims at both ends, shod with dual-purpose MRF Zapper Kurve rubber. Triumph is offering a 2-year/unlimited mileage warranty and 16,000 km service interval on the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X in the Indian market.
