Pravaig, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has inked a pact with Saudi India Venture Studio to set up a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia. The said facility, upon commencement, will cater to the demand in the Gulf, European, and the US markets with a total capacity of up to one million units.
As part of the agreement, the duo will co-develop, supply, and service special purpose vehicles, including EVs, AI-driven solutions, advanced batteries, and energy storage solutions.
Last year, the OEM launched its maiden car, the Defy electric SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 39.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The Defy is powered by a 90.9 kWh battery and is claimed to deliver a range of 500 kilometres on a single charge. Furthermore, the company says that the SUV can clock 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds. This all-wheel drive utility vehicle comes with a top speed governed at 210 kmph.

Based on the same platform, Pravaig also introduced the Interceptor, a rugged off-road SUV, which it says is designed specifically for the armed forces.
In the proposed facility that the company is going to set up overseas, it will be manufacturing left-hand-drive EVs, as opposed to the Indian-spec models it debuted in India last year.
