292% increase in Maruti Suzuki monthly subscriptions in FY 22-23: Fronx, Invicto new additions - Times of India

Three years ago, MSIL launched the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program in India, which enabled customers to drive home cars on a monthly subscription basis. Such subscription/finance models were earlier only seen in expensive luxury car models and democratising such a scheme seems to have worked for Maruti Suzuki. Under the program, instead of buying a car for its ex-showroom value and then paying RTO and insurance charges, customers can strike an agreement with Maruti Suzuki to own the vehicle of their choice on monthly subscription basis, similar to any other digital streaming service that we are now familiar with. The program is now active across 25 cities in the country and has seen exponential growth in the last one year.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the Subscribe program has seen 292 percent growth in FY 22-23. In terms of ownership experience, a customer who drives away a Maruti Suzuki under the subscription model, only needs to pay the monthly fees and not a penny more. Maruti Suzuki takes care of the RTO expenses, first-year insurance and its subsequent renewal, periodic vehicle maintenance and roadside assistance for a hassle-free experience. However, there are a few limitations relating to the usage of a subscribed car. A customers has to choose a subscription tenure that range between 1 year to 5 years and also the vehicle cannot be run more than 10,000 km or 25,000 km in a year, as per the terms of the agreement finalised.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki is offering the subscription service on wide range of its cars, including the Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and Brezza SUV. The newly launched Fronx, Grand Vitara hybrid and the flagship Invicto hybrid MPV are also being offered under the subscription model. Monthly subscription fees range between Rs 12,783 per month for the WagonR to Rs 61,860 per month for the hybrid Invicto.
